Comodo Head of Cryptography to Speak at RSA Conference

Bradford, UK, 17 March. Comodo, the internet security specialists, announces that Dr Colin Walter, Head of Cryptography, Comodo Research Lab will be a speaker at this year's RSA Conference. The conference, held in San Francisco April 13-17, is the largest international e-security event with over 10,000 attendees and 200 exhibitors expected.

Colin's presentation is entitled "Seeing through MIST Given a Small Fraction of an RSA Private Key" in which he will examine how the Comodo-patented MIST randomized algorithm is used to increase the tamper resistance of private keys as typically used in smart card encryption and signature applications. It is still unfeasible for an attacker to break MIST-based implementations of RSA with side-channel trace and lattice-based methods of attack. The subject of Colin's presentation is also published as a paper in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science, vol. 2612 pp 391-402.

Colin has a formidable international reputation in the design of hardware and algorithms for the implementation of RSA cryptography. Colin has been appointed as Program Chair for the CHES conference 2003 and has given invited lectures on many occasions. A senior member of the IEEE, Colin is most well-known to the international community for his invention of the first ever purely locally connected systolic modular multiplier array which is now the basis of the fastest SSL accelerator chips in the world.
